History

This breed is so old that its origins are unknown. It has been reported living in the Pyrenees Mountains of Southern France for as long as anyone can remember.

Care and Health

Prone to epilepsy, patella luxation and hip dysplasia. Weekly brushing to keep matting down is necessary.

Fun Fact

Just two Pyrenean Shepherds are enough to manage a flock of 1,000 sheep.
