This breed originated in Germany hundreds of years ago, it was bred to hunt badgers.
Care and Health
Can have issues with the urinary tract, heart disease and diabetes, so make sure your dog is getting plenty of exercise so it doesn't become overweight. This breed's wiry coat requires more grooming that its smooth counterpart.
